MileTruth

Privacy Policy

Effective September 18, 2026 · published by Baker Ventures LLC

MileTruth is built by Baker Ventures LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what the MileTruth app collects, why, how it's stored, and how you can export or delete it. MileTruth is submitted for App Store review and not yet live; this policy governs the app as designed and stays in force once it ships.

The short version

We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever. MileTruth is local-first: your trips, earnings, and vehicle data live on your device by default. Location data is used only to detect trips automatically and is never sold or shared with advertisers. We run no ad SDKs.

What we collect

Location data

With your permission, MileTruth uses your device's location — including background ("Always") location — to detect when you start and stop driving, so your mileage log fills in automatically. This includes GPS coordinates and, on supported devices, motion-activity signals (e.g., "in vehicle" vs. "walking") used to decide when to start and stop tracking efficiently. Location is processed to build trip records (route, distance, start/end points) stored primarily on your device. We do not sell location data, and we do not include coordinates or addresses in analytics events sent to our service providers.

Trip and earnings data

Trip records (distance, timestamps, classification as business or personal, platform, purpose, notes) and earnings you enter or import (gross pay, tips, bonuses, fees, per platform) are stored on your device and, if you enable cloud backup, in our backend so you can restore them on a new device.

Vehicle and cost data

Vehicle details you provide (year, make, model, fuel economy) and any cost overrides you enter are used to calculate your personal cost-per-mile and true net pay. This data stays with your account and is never used for anything other than powering your own reports.

Account and subscription data

If you create a backup account, we store an email address or device-linked identifier. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, our subscription-billing provider; app-store purchase receipts are validated through RevenueCat, which does not receive your trip or earnings data.

Diagnostics and usage data

We use Sentry for crash and error reporting, with personal-data collection turned off and a scrubber that strips anything location- or address-shaped before it leaves your device. We use PostHog for product analytics (e.g., which screens are used, whether onboarding completes) — analytics events never include location coordinates, addresses, or health data.

How your data is stored

MileTruth stores your data locally on your device (SQLite) by default. Cloud backup, when you turn it on, syncs to a Supabase-hosted database operated by Baker Ventures LLC, protected by row-level security so only your account can read your own rows. Raw GPS points used to compute a trip's route are retained for a limited window to allow re-processing (e.g., if map-matching improves) and are then discarded; the resulting trip summary (distance, times, addresses) is kept as part of your log.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share the minimum necessary data with the service providers that make the app work, each of them bound to use it only to provide their service to us:

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Baker Ventures LLC, our users, or the public.

Your choices

Children's privacy

MileTruth is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
